John & Gillian Buckley make up the team at Straight Up Rod Racks. The drive to create the business came about when a friend said to us "you'll never sell those". Of course, we had to prove him wrong and have gone on from selling our racks on TradeMe to the part time business that it is today, selling direct through our website to hundreds of satisfied customers.
As every rack is different and tailored to suit your rod & reel collection, we have found it best to continue offering our racks for sale direct through our website rather than through the tackle stores. Buying direct saves you money.
John is the main rack builder. He is also a farming and fencing contractor. When he is not working, he can be found fishing and hunting in the lakes, rivers and mountains surrounding our home.
Gillian looks after the administration and timber tattooing, works full time for Ahipara Luxury Travel.
We spent 16 years living in Doubtless Bay, Northland and now call the Mackenzie Country in the South Island home.
